NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK

Minuteman High School is looking to hire a licensed ELA Teacher to serve as a Long-Term Substitute starting April 22, 2024. Minuteman teachers are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction designed to foster the success of their students. Minuteman's curriculum is deeply integrated among its career majors and academic disciplines. Individuals applying for this position will commit to working collaboratively with instructors within and across all disciplines as required to assist the Academy Development Team to implement an academy structure.

•Design well-structured units and engaging lessons guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards.
•Foster a growth mindset in all students based on a firm understanding of adolescent development.
•Use a variety of timely assessments to measure and report student progress.
•Be passionate and optimistic about their students, their content, and the teaching profession. 
•Differentiate and scaffold instruction while providing clear and high expectations.
•Relate subject matter to real-world settings and other content areas.
•Create a trauma-informed class climate that promotes inclusion, embraces diversity and maintains equity.
•Build relationships of regard and respect with students, parents, and colleagues.
•Engage families with effective two-way communication to support student achievement.
•Contribute to a collaborative adult learning community in service of student needs.
•Maintain and improve professional competence through attendance at professional development events.
•Regularly reflect on practice, seek and respond to feedback, and demonstrate self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning and development.
•Contribute to a collaborative adult learning community in service of student needs.
•Promote a professional culture characterized by competence, caring, and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

•Certified or certifiable by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in ELA required
•Experience with Title I ELA is preferred but not required
•Knowledge of MCAS standards and computer applications preferred
•Previous experience with Aspen is preferred but not required
•Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the United States required
•Ability to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Equipment Used: Copier, smart board, phone, computer. Physical Demands (if applicable): Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On occasions, there may need to move or lift light articles.

Old Rochester Regional School District is currently seeking a Part Time classroom teacher for the Chapter 74 Early 
Childhood Program at ORR High School. Candidates must possess the following DESE licenses: Early Childhood (Prek - 2)
and Vocational Technical Teacher Certification (Early Education & Care). This teacher will be responsible for the instruction
of High School students and supporting PreK students in the program.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
• Creates and maintains an effective and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children in classroom
• Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal classroom climate
• Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities to improve instruction and become up to
date on district initiatives
• Assesses student progress towards learning targets, objectives, and expectations
• Collects data to document student progress and aid in planning
• Provides feedback on progress to students, parents, and administration
• In collaboration with the Early Childhood Teachers holds parent conferences in the fall and spring to discuss individual
preschool student progress
• Prepares daily lessons and activities for Chapter 74 high school students
• Provides targeted intervention to close student learning gaps
• Differentiates for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual need
• Collaborates with instructional staff and colleagues to improve student outcomes
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve
social, emotional and learning problems
• Follows specific standards, policies, and procedures of the building and the district
• Attends and participates in grade level meetings and faculty meetings
• Responsible for implementing "other job related duties" as needed
