“Where Books Are Born: An Author’s Journey”
Join GBC as Rob Buyea, an established children’s book author from North Andover, shares his story about becoming an author. His talk will include important lessons learned from wrestling and many anecdotes and teaching tips from his time as a classroom teacher, as well as a look at the writing process.
Rob has taught third and fourth grade as well as high school biology. While teaching elementary school, he soon realized that in order to teach reading and writing he first needed to be a reader and writer himself. He began reading all sorts of books and then began writing. Rob states, “I was inspired to write stories by my students. My students’ stories were so impressive! If you have a story, you have something to write about.”
